Hello, I have a nice 72 grille badge, but no backing plate ( apparently has a small hole that provides the correct alignment. Anyone have one?? Thanks, Steve

Grille emblem. That plate has a smal hole and one edge is curved under to grip the plastic rib and it is notched to sit in a certain spot against a verticle plastic rib. I might be able to make a close replica. The repo GS grille emblem doesn't come with the mount plate

John, I always say badge which is a carry over from the Triumph TR6 days when I was heavily into all things British. Painful. If you could fab something that would be great, assuming the cost to do so wouldn't make th effort unaffordable. I'm guessing that lots of the emblems are on with all sorts of home-made backing plates. Let me know if you can do it - that would be great. Steve

See about that one listed above. The plate to look correct would be a pain. I will still look into making a repo however.

Steve: aka: Racngrn...I woulda guessed you were into classic British cars by the name RACNGRN...British Racing Green was pretty-much a popular color for Brits collectors...I've had MANY MANY Jaguars, MG's, Triumphs since I first could drive! ASK any of my friends and they all know I vassilate twixt the old British Invasion vehicles and our beloved Buicks! I owned 3 E-Types, many MGA's, B's, one "C" and a few Midgets... and at one time I had 4 TR6's a Spit and a wide mouth TR3! There is a fello just up the street, an "original owner" 1950-52 TD or maybe TF?....its burried in his garage and he wont let me see it, however his wife recently told me he is quite ill now and she may have to part with it without him knowing...! My name is FIRST on her CALL list! We'll see! Wheelz, Tampa Bay

Sorry guys, just back to this thread. Wheelz, I really loved the British stuff and still appreciate some of the nice stuff out there. Problem is, you always wonder if you're gonna make it home. My TR6 was in the familiy for 35 years and I finally parted with it a few years ago to buy a Vette. All origina and 47k miles. Got decent money for it, so that was nice. Love the Buick, though parts for the TR were tons easier to locate and buy.

I have Patton making up a fabbed version and will report on that. Also PM'd BuickBert as I'd prefer an original part. I'll keep you posted. Given the signififcant # of emblems that get repro'd and sold, its amazing that these plates aren't repro'd too. Thanks, Steve

MIke if you want me to I can send my original for you to make a repo. Looks easy to me. I could use a couple extra myself. I have more emblems than plates.
