So, here's my query... what is the correct color of the blacked out part of the 72 headlight bezels on the GS. I know its black just to save the jokesters apost,is it flat,satin, is there abrand that matches the best. there has to be some that knows for sure. thanks :3gears: :3gears:
Actually the bezels are the same dark argent gray that is used on the grille and inside the spokes of the chrome ralleye wheels, which is a satin gloss. Black would probably look better, but is not correct. I don't have the color number, but I'm sure somebody on here has it handy.
the ralley rims (spoke area) are semi-gloss black or some guys use gloss black & let the sun fade the paint. the dark argent for the bezels is plasti-kote product cc 9091 , charcoal pearl m , in a small rattle can. it dries very hard. the paint is very thin, so watch for run-ons or drips.
after i thought about it a while, i do remember others saying that the spoked area on the rallye rims were dark argent. on my 72 gs, 14x6 rims, they had original layer of paint & it was black and thus i repainted them semi-gloss black.
