I went junking with the Chicagoland GSCA folks Saturday and stumbled on a '72 GS 350. Kind of sad. The upside was the car was picked clean, so it will continue to live on someone's Skylark clone I imagine. I did pick the parking lamps and fender struts just so they wouldn't go to waste. A moment of silence as another GS bites the dust.
I know the feeling There is a wasted 72 sun coupe in a local junkyard out here. It is a shame that the car got picked through like it did, but I guess the car has been in the junkyard for over 20 years and kept alot of other Skylarks on the road.
Hey Dave, In that very same junkyard, on the other hill there is a 72 GS 350 that is picked clean as well. The way, with out looking at the vin, that I identified it was the imprint of the Buick Motor Division emblem on the fender. There's also a GTO convertible and a 69 or 70 Merc Cyclone down along the creek. There's also a 69 Roadrunner on the hill furthest away from the office. There are also at least 4 AMC Javelins (the most I've ever seen...Anywhere in any condition). I'm surprised by the lack of mustangs though. It's amazing how many dead musclecars are in that yard.
