I like this car a lot how hard was it to do all the stuff you done to it. I am 16 and want my 72 GS to look this bad but keep the stock apperance just with the big tires and cage and things like that my car is really bad rusted but #'s matching so I dont mind cutting on it but will do it to an extend.
Shane, not to discourage you too much but this car has had over 10grand to get it to the point you see it in. Not including the numerous hrs of free labor.ou: Save your money and spend it wisely. :dollar: Adam call me sometime,:beer
Yea i know what you are saying my car is really rough thought about making a parts car out of it a time or two but cant talk my self into doing it. But your car is still really nice, I knew Buicks were exspensive when I got one but I like them, I usually deal with 70-81 Trans am and Firebirds and they arent that exspensive. Thanks for the advice and hope you have luck with selling the car.
Re: 72 gs Certified 8.50 balfhalf Did my pics come thru. After looking at them I find it hard to see what it is I was taking the pics of . With the Suncoupe in the garage I am pressed for space to get around it for pics. I might try to use the wifes film type camera to get pics and just mail them to you
I Just got off the phone with Dave and told him I couldn't buy the car. Dave was very helpful and answered "ALL" of my questions about the car!! Dave I'm buying beers in Bowling Green... Thanks :beers2:
I bought the car from Dave years ago and finished it. It is now for sale. I will be making up an ad soon. I can e-mail pictures if you are interested. Scott 605-677-9198
After getting car from Dave, I decided to Pro Street it instead of race it. ( Have too many race cars now). I put in a mild 455 with a turbo 400. It has a 3000 stall and trans brake with reverse pattern shift. I used a steel hood with cowl. I made a spoiler for the rear and painted it black to match the cowl on the hood. It has a fiber glass deck lid. I've never weighed it, but I would guess in the 3100# range. I had a picture taken of the paint so I could match the hood and trunk. It came out to a mercedes benz poly green metallic. It's fairly dark and looks black at times. Very nicely done car. Have title that states '72 skylark. Car has all '70 GS Stage 1 trim. I put alot of new parts in it while finishing it. Heres a few. -new Weld dragstars with new mickey sportsman tires -new aluminum radiator, stock clutch fan, no electric fan -new mickey thompson repo headers -aluminized 3" X- system, 40 series flowmasters, with polished stainless tailpipes. Done in house of course. -new rechromed bumpers -new grille, very nice taillights, new emblems, etc. -custom aluminum custom dash. New gauges etc. -all new door panels, carpet, seats, 5 point harnesses, weaterstriping, etc. -new quarter pistol grip shifter -line lock -new 8 gallon fuel cell, mechanical stage 1 fuel pump. no electric pump -new windshield, nice tinted glass -much more. Nice car with less than 50 miles on since completion. Asking $15,000 Having trouble attaching pictures. Will be added later. Thanks, Scott 605-677-9198
