Does anyone know how to remove and reinstall the stainless trim at the top of the hood (near the windshield) on a 1972 Buick Skylark? I'm changing hoods and want to use my original trim. Thanks!

Slide a thin putty knife under the molding from the bottom side and push or tap lightly. Once you get it started you should be able to work it off without the knife. When installing them I like to open them up just a bit by sliding a chisel through it to open it up a little (clamp a chisel in a vice, tap the molding onto it, then pull it the entire length of the molding), mainly because most repaints these days are thicker than the original and there is less chance of rolling the new paint off. Make sure you have it positioned properly by lining it op on one end, then gently tap it on with a rubber hammer.
