I looked at this car locally and thought that the asking price of $7,000 was way to high. It's currently over $13 k . Guess I was wrong . Needs every piece of sheetmetal replaced, has Pontiac trans, grille need repair, bumpers need replating, rockers bad, MASSIVE oil leaks ,trans leaks, exhaust system new, but manifold gaskets bad, it's deafening. Pictures conveniently don't show bottoms of fenders , doors or quarters where they meet the roof :Brow: . I hope someone on the Board doesn't end up with it at that price . It needs a ton. Guy seemed honest , but the description in no way begins to tell how bad it really is. Why would everyone who saw it locally turn it down for half the price????

What's up with the giant rubber bumpers around the license plates? (ugly!)

  5. It doesnt look to bad, even from the pics, the rubber bumper on the back...looks upside down from something else, yes it doesnt fit the car at all. Not a bizarre option is it?

The seller mentions the non-original trans, tears in the seat, rust spots throughout, oil dripping, and the exhaust leak.

I sure hope anyone bidding reads the wording instead of relying on the pictures.

    Nice horn.

How would I get a copy of the "Wholesale Order Form" for my car, it's a '70 Skylark and I have the build sheet, customer order sheet, etc. but not that form? Thanks!

The Sloan Museum should have that form for a 1970 Skylark

Thanks. I don't think I can get mine, it's a late 1970 build from Framingham, MA.

Hey Gary - call them. You never know. I know they don't have the Flint-built late 1970 model year cars, but they may have Framingham cars.

Why would I list this as "One that got away" ????? I couldn't RUN away from this car fast enough. What do you consider Numbers Matching????? Not only don't they match, the tranny isn't even from a Buick !!!!! What you have is a car needing a body , at least a trans from the right manufacturer , and alot of trim . These pics are purposely taken so as to not show the rust. I would like to hear from someone else who SAW THE CAR IN PERSON before you write comments like that. Better yet , ask the new owner if he thinks it was accurately described. I'm trying to look out for others and get comments like these??? I would not be surprised if the seller ends up hearing from a lawyer and you see the car relisted or if they work out a deal for alot less money. He told me he was taking the car out to Norwalk on last Sunday to see if he could sell it there, so I guess none of us that saw it in person has a clue , right? Buick days and guys who know what they are looking at and NOT A NIBBLE? :Do No:

I have seen a lot worse than this at least it runs and drives .pic's look somewhat decent with no fist sized holes . 7k seems like a steal from what i have seen people pay for a stage 1 in much worse lookin shape with absolutely no matching #s.

  16. You gotta realx a bit. Yes it would be ideal to be able to personally check every inch of the car. As far as # matching, is the tranny the only issue? No big deal, and how hard is it to recover a pair of buckets. I think, and I'm really just speaking for myself, but I shouldnt because I havent been around the actual car. So like most of us we see what is presented to us in pics and a small discription, and we call it how we see it.

For 7000, I would have jumped on it, maybe not now cause its up around 13900. SO I too will list is "the one that got away" by the way, couldnt help notice you seem a bit angry :af: , you dont have any personal issues about this particular car? Relax, less coffe, more beer

Keep an open mind guy's he has seen the car in person you have not, he's only trying to help fellow buick guy's.Chris

    72 stage 1 on ebay

Car is located in Brunswick ,OH . I didn't look at a blue 72 in MI, might have been someone else. Am I the only person on here that has driven hours (8) to look at a car described as "wash it , wax it and put it in a show and I guarantee a trophy " only to find that the cracked frame and quarter sized holes were left out of the description. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND IT SUCKED ! Turn around and go home empty handed. Months later , same thing happens to a good friend of mine only 10 hrs away. That was 17 years ago and I'm still a little bitter. Has anyone else on V8 Buick seen this car ? If you have had pleasant car buying experiences, Terrific! I have had both so count your blessings if you haven't been burned.
