A gentleman called me out of the blue asking about buying my car. I'm undecided if I should sell, but curious what a resonable value would be. 72 Stage 1 Convertible, complete numbers matching and sloan verified. Solid sheet metal (except trunk floor). Car would need complete restoration. Thanks for your opinions, George

Is it a 4 speed or auto? Definite difference in the price and rarity.:eek2:

George, Think it through carefully. Mine is a 4-speed with A/C matching #'s convt as well. Burnished copper with all options. It has been going through a 3 plus year frame off but it is the one I will keep. I have sold 4 or 5 cars to help with the finances but I still have 4 other GS's in my collection. The market is so volatile that the price is dependant on so many variables. Furthermore, What will you do with all of the "extra" cash if you do sell it. Upstaged in Michigan.

Car is an automatic, well optioned. I promise not to make any knee jerk decisions. But some cash will help me pay off some debts. I have enough respect for Buicks and this car in general that I would rather see it finished and enjoyed by someone, rather than it continue to be the dust collector parked in the garage that I like to tell people about. Not an easy decision any way you look at it. Thanks again for any info, George

I will also be interested in the opinions here as I am just finishing my 72 stage 1 conv. It is also numbers matching with sloan docs. It started as a simple project then worked it's way to a frame off major deal. Anyway the 4-spd at Volo was sold for north of $90K while an exact copy of it that was a remade car had trouble getting $70K even though it was a numbers match it had to have the frame replaced as well as most of the body. They definitely are in the potential to grow catagory as the 70's keep raising in value.

They had one in similar condition a few months ago at a major collector car auction ...top bid was 17k but seller wanted 30k. Ive seen nice restored ones from 55k up to 150k for real deal S1 cars the higher #'s were stick cars of course.
