I am looking at a 73 GS 455. Where is the info( cowl tag) located on this car. If any? I checked the car but couldn't find any info under the hood. Is the info tag on these year cars on the glove box door??? Tim
I don't think so, but I never owned a 73 My 71, and all the other gs cars I recall seeing have it located on the drivers side FIRE WALL, under the hood mounted with two rivets. It is the Body by Fischer tag. Someone my have painted black all over it, making it a little difficult to see. Dan:bglasses:
Hey, on my '73 GS455, I found the build sheet behind the passenger side door panel. If you get bored, you might see if yours is there as well. Warren
The cowl tag on a '73 is also on the driver's side of the cowl, it comes off pretty easy with screws, so maybe it was taken off. I didn't find anything on/or in the '73 Stage 1, I parted out, got some stuff in the car, like the warranty thing, the car wasn't sold until September of '73, with some miles on it, so it may have been a salesman's car or some such, whatever they did, cars with bb weren't selling real well back then, with the embargo or the get gas on the even and odd days thing going on? You can contact the Sloan Museum with the VIN and see what they have at http://www.sloanmuseum.com Hope that helps.
On my 73 the cowl tag is located on the passenger side on the top of the cowl. Open the hood and you will see it.
Throw it out there. Well you gotta post it up here first. ou: Marko had the one I posted on the board deciphered the same day. :TU: I can't guarantee such quick results but I think that these guys like to see what they are dealing with.
