Yes, but make shure the 72' block has the extra water passage. If not you will have to plug it in the heads.

    heads

i am almost positive that 72 heads will fit on a 73. i rebuilt a 71 455 and the original heads were cracked so i bought some at a yard and install them. they were 72 heads. after i finished the rebuild w/ those heads i had water in the oil due to the 72 heads having that extra water outlet. good luck

72 - 73 heads will interchange you cant go backward is all
cant use 72 or newer heads on 71 and earlier engine without plugging coolant holes near exhaust crossover on head,:TU:

    Hi Guys,

Actually there are some old-wife's-tales still circulating among the Buick community concerning heads and blocks. Take a look at this past thread for a complete "run-down" of the differences of heads and blocks and what year what can be used with what year what. I think I have pretty much covered the bases when it comes to this subject.:)
