I didn't even notice the price, but this is one wierd optioned car! It's on the NJ Craigslist and is a very plain looking dark green LeSabre 4dr sedan.Almost has a cop car look. But it is loaded with automatic a/c,cruise control,"T" code 455,am/fm 8 track stereo,clock,p.windows,p.door locks and maybe some more options. http://cnj.craigslist.org/car/748854560.html
You never know, My hometown in MA used to run LeSabre's as police units from the late 60's to about 1974 as I recall, light blue with white painted roof and the gumball (may have a pic somewhere). Likely it was political as the city used to buy them from the local dealer "Lallas Buick". I also recall some police marked sport wagons that the safety officer and the traffic department used. Not sure what they had for heavy duty equipment components, if any.
"It's got a cop engine, cop brakes, cop suspension ... hit it!" Wonder how this one would have faired with the Blues Brothers? My Buick chassis manual has many options and schematics for "police options". I guess Buick did make (sell) police cars somewhere other than Flint (MI).
Here is some discussion we had on the Centurion board about it when the car was on ebat a month ago.. http://www.buickcenturion.com/forums/showthread.php?t=835
Oh man, you got me going! :TU: :TU: NICE! I can not help myself with a couple more classic quotes from the flick....damn near every line is a one liner:laugh: "did you remember my Cheese Whiz, Boy?" "oh Mother of Sweet Acceleration, don't fail us now!" "what's that?...threw a rod!...is that bad?....YUP!" "Use of deadly force to apprehend the Blue's Brothers is authorized, That is all" "I hate Illinois Nazi's!" yeah, the Penguinray: Nice BUICK by the Way
I know this is straying from the subject of the thread, but ... on the subject of Buicks and "Johnny law" or the military, I was on vacation a couple of years ago and visited the USS Alabama Memorial (http://www.ussalabama.com/gallery.php). Inside the enclosed hanger, there is an SR-71 ... and next to it is an aircraft engine starter for making compressed air to start the Blackbird's engines. The gas engine present is a Buick Nailhead V8, I think a dual quad at that. I had heard that Buick was chosen for this task because of the prodigious torque.
