Pat is correct. It was more than likely a hood lock. There are probably matching holes on the inside of the hood for the lock receptacle. Common stuff back in the day at least on cars in NY Alot of older cars had the left front fender drilled for the installation of alarm lock cylinders. If they only knew how valuable those fenders would be years later
Well, I got outbid. Frankly I'm surprised it took this long. They bidder's eBay name is "hemieater". Anybody know him? I hope he's a Buick fan and not just someone looking for an investment. I outbid him in return, but have about reached the limit of how much I can spend. I guess I'll see where things stand when I come back to work on the 5th. Thanks to everyone here for all of their help and information. Have a great 4th, everyone. Pop some caps for me if you live somewhere where you can do that sort of thing!
Never heard of that device here probably because they'd either shoot 'em or send to the sheep boys and eat 'em before they got away. One got shot permanently down here just recently while he was still in the man's truck before it ever got out of the driveway.
hemieater Yup I am Buick guy, not real serious on the car but do think it is kind of cool, myself and mister suncoupe John Kemper were talking heavily about this car and both were wondering if are wifes would kill us if we brought it home. bill
Hi Bill. Glad to hear you're a buick guy. I'm going to drop out of the bidding. The highest I could go would be $12k and I doubt that will get it, even with the lowered reserve. The asking price on the seller's website (http://www.mulemotors.com/id5.html) is $17k and I can't see him coming down to $12k. When I emailed him to confirm that it's a matching numbers car, he did ask if I'd like to make an offer. In case you'd like to talk to him, his name is Paul Gonzales, his phone number is 702-498-2751, and his email is TradeOne, Inc. [mulemotors@winning.com]. Anyway, best of luck to you and/or John if you decide to go after the car. I'd love to go after it with everything I have in the bank, but like I said in an earlier email, I need a house and garage more than I need this car.
Hey Boscoe. I have seen this car on e-bay before. I have bought too many cars in this last year tho. This car looks pretty cool and there were only 42 Elec Suncoupes in 73! I would call and get as much info as I could on this car, if what he says is true the car is rare. 18K? well depends on how nice you will need alot of$$$$ to make it clean and right. Parts are impossible to find. The 73's are the best cars and buys out there now :3gears: (They look pretty cool too-like the 68-69 Skylarks GS)
Looks real That is one ugly exhaust system and the rims suck, but boy it would be a cool car to have. I really have a sick attraction to the end of the muscle car era cars that came out in early seventies (not just the buicks). Spend more money
Congratulations on the sickness known as 73 Buicks!! Yes Pat it is 49 elec. Suncoupes, my memory is old! Neat car Bill, Pat is the man to go to for any info. John Csordas has done all my 73's and had a 4-speed one also. He knows these cars inside out by now  :bglasses: Man these cars are coming out of the woods now :TU: :Smarty: Again LOL. Any help or info just ask :Smarty:
73 Stage 1 So what were the options on wheel choices on this model from the factory? Nice car, not to far from home either :TU: :TU: I should go check it out
Here's one Phil doesn't have his hands on yet...I am thinking this is in the 90's at E-town I know its E-town for sure...
Congratulations, Bill. I hope you can make a deal with the seller and get the car. It was hard to watch the clock tick down and not bid, but I'd already said I was dropping out. I hope you can get the car and do the proper restoration that it deserves. Good luck!
Pat THat has to be the summer of 1994. In the winter of '93 I just painted my car (also shown pulled in just to the right of the '73. That winter of '94 I sent my '70 out to get back halved and that shot you can see a small tire on the rear. Now that '73 I am sure Phil knows about it. It was John Csordas's and prior to that was his cousins (I think) car. That '73 is an original 4-speed big block car and now I am pretty sure Jerry Derise bought some years ago, I think he still owns it. John? ...Phil...? any add ons to the history.
That 70 white PG Skylark was owned by a guy named Dale and the engine was built by Scotty. I don' know what happened to it though.
I seen that car at Beaver Springs 2 times and it ran so aweful it was a shame. The guys really didn't care about it and I believe it was only hitting the 11's. I remember the article about the alcohol gang and how bad assed that car ran.Too bad the fundage wasn't there at the time or I'd probably be getting this car ready to go instead of my Skylark.I believe this car would be a cool runner.
Great picture of Johns car. It looks cool :3gears: I missed that car and the parts by a few months ou: It is still out there tho :Smarty:
Anyone near this car that can give me a heads up on the condition of the car , hear it run ? I am seriously thinking about buying it . Hell I already have the 72 and its white so it would look good next to it . I guess the 70 GS 455 project might have to go to somone else . So if anyone can domit PM me . Tahnks John
