Trying to find an affordable Quadrajet 4bbl to get my SBB 350 back on its feet, located this carb- #7044500. A quick google search shows that its for a 1974 Chevy 454 California car. Anyone know what cfm this carb should flow?

It probably a smog carb which, in my mind, is undersirable. Also, the circuits will be wrong for your application. Why not post a "wanted" thread on this board and see if anyone has a good one for cheap?

It's a large main airbleed carburetor, just needs some help and they are fine for just about any application where a side inlet divorced choke carburetor is needed.

The late model "smog" carburetors are actually superior to any early designs in many ways. They are just set up lean at idle, off idle and cruise to please the EPA and work effectively on the pathetically "anemic" engines they were used on in the mid to late 70's thru the late 1980's.

I have a customer using a nearly identical unit as the 7044500 running in Super Stock, into the 9's with a 355cid SBC in a 67 Camaro....how bad can they be?......Cliff

Get a Buick carb with the fuel inlet in the right place. They are plentiful. Many may need a rebuild.
