    Can you clarify?

    Hello,
Please allow me to ask a question. Did Rusty tell you at some point that he wanted the part/parts or merely that he wanted to see an email of the parts? There would be a significant difference in my opinion. If he is "guilty" of just requesting an email with pictures then there certainly would be no obligation on his part. Rusty is a well known on the board and one of our best communicators too. Please enlighten us on the allegation.:( Perhaps we can all work together to get it resovled.:)

I replied to your post for pictures of your doorpanels. You emailed me several pictures of some black doorpanels. Being black the details of the doorpanels didn't show up that well in pictures and they were not for the colonade GS style body so I could only use the front panels and you were trying to sale the set of panels so i backed off.{by backing off i mean i did not request any more info after the one and only request on the thread for pictures!!!!!!!!!!!]You replied asking what was going on??And that you had someone wanting the whole interior locally. I emailed you back asking if you would sell just the front door panels and if so how much $$ because no price had even been mentioned and price would make a BIG difference if I would be interested or not at this time AND do not miss a sale on count of holding anything for me.You then emailed me a price, not counting shipping, insurance, and that you were boxing them up to ship to me like it was a done deal when I only inquired about a picture and a price!!!!!!!!!!!! I have in no way even slightly made like I was purchasing your parts!!!!!!!!!! I only showed some interest in your parts. If moderaters can see my PM from this fellow please feel free to post them here for all to see.I never replied to your last email to me because you seemed illogical and still do. In order to post bad feedback on someone a deal or transaction must be made and we didn't make any deal or sell.If you want to speak bad of me for requesting pics or asking a price on your items then I fully understand the "crazy" nickname on your post. But so you do understand my postion now I DO NOT WANT THE DOORPANELS.Sorry to have troubled you in anyway.

    buickdav Kris' other half.

Just seems like a bit of miscommunication here to me. And perhaps a misunderstanding, or assumed sale, based on a simple request for pix. From the posts I see here and the reasoning behind them, looks to me like Rusty didn't need, or want the part, for whatever reason. Pretty simple there through my eyes.

But also through my eyes, I have seen NO reason for a negative feedback of any sort. Especially if it is based on a guys simple request for pix.

Too bad things didn't work out ? Yes. Justification for negative feedback ? In my opinion No ! Just my opinion here, but I too would have to agree that I have never heard anything bad about Rusty in dealings like this. Sorry things didn't work out.

    Crazy Indian,
It would seem Rusty never told you he wanted the parts. What say you sir? If this is true you either owe him a BIG apology or you {being the thread starter} have the option to delete the entire thread.
Please consider what has actually transpired and do not breath fire in anger:af: or :spank: Rusty. He is a valuable board member as are all Buick men [and women]. Since your posting number is quite low on here [6], perhaps we can get past this event and learn to appreciate your input as well.:beer

    gotbuick What, me worry?

Since the thread is still active it's my turn.

    1. Welcome to the boards Mr. 6 posts.

    2. If you were here more often then you would see how things work and wouldn't flame someone who merely asks for info on your stuff for sale.

    3. This is not some farm auction like you are used to. Just because someone raised their hand doesn't mean SOLD!

    4. My favorite. If your going to try and slam someone on the internet learn how to spell, punctuate, and break up your thoughts. The days of flint rock and clubs are gone. Finish the third grade!!! :gt:

With that being said, have a nice day.

Rusty, I don't know you but thought a little advice to a new board member was in order. :moonu::moonu:

Well, I have completed a buy from one board member here so far, I left him feedback, he didn't leave me any, not quite fair but not that big of deal, I have another large deal going with a member on a car, I have paid for the car and its being shipped to me now and I will leave feedback also on that deal when I recieve the car and hope he does the same for me, return the "thanks " so ta speek, anyway, If someone ever left me bad feedback just because and ask for a pic and how much, I would be pissed, I really think its completely unfair to do someone that way, ALOT of people see these forums and all it takes is ONE person to make you look bad for a hell of a long time.

  10. James, I wouldn't worry too much about the seller not leaving return feedback. I personally reserve board-related feedback comments for the extremes of experience, the very good and the very bad. The seller may also not be aware that you left feedback, you could always make a point of mentioning it after a completed deal. I do that on ebay every time I leave positive feedback for a seller, I send them a note telling them that I've done so. Be cool! :bglasses:

By the way, I see no justification whatsoever for this negative post regarding Rusty.

E-MAIL PICTURES IF YOU CAN,THANKS RUSTY. I did send the pictures and the price and that was the last that i hered from him.:Do No: if you are interested i think you should follow up letting somebody know if you ARE going to buy or NOT. if you all still think I am in the wrong i will reverce my post and say it .

I don't think any feedback should be left unless there has been an actual transaction.

Jerry,Yes I did show interest in your parts.I did want to see pictures and know how much money you wanted for them. But you are the one that pursued me. You emailed me several times. You came across [to me] like a pushy salesman.I did tell you not to hold anything for me or miss a sell. I thought that a statement like that would be enough to let you know that if I wanted to buy that I would let you know but you contined to think I was purchasing your parts and I never said or implied that I would do so. I am not upset or bent out of shape over this and hope you are not as well.I have poeple on this board that I have sold to and bought parts from for as long as 15 years ago[before the V8 board even exsisted] who can vouch for my character in parts buying, selling, trading. If I said that I wanted to buy your parts you can rest assured that I would have let you know that I did want them,I would have asked for a payment method and address to mail such payment,I would provided you with a ship to address, and done all in a timely manner or asked for a grace period to gather the funds while you did hold parts for me without the possiblity of selling to someone else.If selling something to someone else I desire these same qualities from buyers.

    This doesn't make sense either.

    Hi Adam,
Everyone has a different opinion on this issue. What we need badly is a set of rules for board sales and feedback guidelines. As things stand right now, I much prefer eBay because rules are in place and everyone has some clue on what is expected of the buyer and the seller.
If an actual transaction has occurred {seller got paid and buyer got his or her stuff} how can it be anything but a positive? I have already been around the block with this one.

In my opinion negative feedback is due if:

    1. The buying party fails to pay, after they said they wanted the item, in a reasonable amount of time {say ten days}

    2. The selling party neglects to send an item as described in a timely fashion. The seller should also be responsible for a good job of packing the item.

If either party fails to come through, it is my opinion they have opened themselves up to a negative feedback as one would expect with eBay rules.

  17. I would think this statement indicates somewhat of a misconception on your part. Replying to a for sale ad means that person is interested enough to let you know they want more information. Very seldom does an ad provide enough details to make an instant sale. If I go to a car dealer and test drive a car, am I commited to buying it? No. Do I need to tell him after a couple days that I'm not going to come in and buy it? No.

It sounds to me like Rusty made it pretty clear that you were not to hold any parts on his account, if you had a commited buyer. End of story. We Buick guys are pretty discriminating shoppers, and like to be sure that what we are looking at, is exactly what we need, before saying "I'll take it". Nothing wrong with that. Especially in this internet/evilbay marketplace, where your motto has to be "buyer beware" to protect your interests.

I don't think any more comments are needed on this thread.

Brian, while I agree with your comments, I'm sure you would agree that they don't apply in this particular instance.

    Hi David,
Of course not, Rusty clearly did not tell crazyindian he was going to be purchasing the parts.
