is there a way to hook up a manual/digital oil and temperature guage and keep the the factory gauges and dash lights
Sure! On my car for the temperature gauge connection, there was an old vacuum switch that screwed into the intake that wasn't being used anymore (it was some kind of emissions thing). For oil pressure I teed off where the factory connection is for the idiot light. The lights for your new gauges can be connected to the existing dash lights. It's a little work but not too hard.
