I replaced the factory rear from my 1970 Stage 1 for a 12 bolt 3:42 because I'm installing a new Tri-shield 470 this winter and wanted something stronger that can handle over 500 HP. This rear is complete except parking brake cables, not rusty or been sitting, been in my 1970 GS Stage 1 show car. It has 3:64 gears. It would be perfect for a restoration project car wanting a 3:64 posi. Checking to see if anybody is interested in it at $1400 shipped to a shipping company for local pick-up anywhere in the Continental US. Photos I can email to you.
Pictures attached I'm pretty sure the cover is not correct, because it doesn't have the scallops on the sides, The Axel Tube Numbers are illegible. The gear tooth contact is great, you cannot feel any material loss even from contact with a finger all tho its hard to see due to the oil being so shiny, all the rubber bushing are without any deterioration, brakes are good and clean, I just took this out of the car, it had no problems and after opening it up I see no problems what-so-ever, but it is with all used parts sold as is.
I did alittle more looking at this rear because some wanted more info...Its marked ON D on the axel tube and the date code is D10 ( April 1 1970) on the carrier housing.
Come on Guys''''' this price is shipped, I would rather this go to a restoration on a quality GS than sit in my garage waiting for me to buy another GS to restore.
