i have a regal limited with a 350 motor and 350 turbo tranny swap. Motor bored .30 over 224 cam and 2500 stall converter edelbrock carb and performanc intake transmission is automatic with shift kit. I want to keep the 7.5 for now but put a posi and gears in it. my question is What's the stock gear ratio in it and any suggestions of what gear and posi unit? thanks

My Regal limited (1985) had a 2.56 gear in it with a open rearend. I swapped out the center section with a 7.5 (S-10) posi unit and a 3.42 gear. The S-10 posi units are cheap but make sure if you use one you get one with the same axle spline count as what your axles are now.

You are just gonna have to pull the cover and count teeth to know what you have for sure(ring gear divided by pinion) My 87 came with 2.19s or something like that. I replaced it with 3.08s and an auburn pro posi.
Lots of options let us know what you decide.

HAve a true trac NEW here if you need and multituide of gears... :)

It will be a 2.14 2.29 2.72 2.56 something like that I am sure. Axle tube code will tell us or since your going to rebuild anyway just crack it open and vrear the edge of the ring gear it will give you the tooth count of the ring and the pinion then divide the small number in top the larger ring gear count number.

Example pictured. 42 divided by 13 = 3.23076 or round to the 2nd decimal 3.23
