9-3/8" Rear End Drawings

Does anyone know of or have any technical drawings of the 9-3/8" rears? I am interested in comparing the internals to those of a Chevy 12 bolt or Ford 9" to see if there were any way (custom adapters or modified gears) to get gears from a more common rear end to fit into a Big Buick rear. Actually, if somebody has already looked into this, or has information about it, that would be great, too. Even if it pointed out the fact that no other gears have a chance of fitting- at least I could concentrate on other things like fixing the brakes, or rust removal, or something even less exciting on the Riv.

Thanks. I remember that really long thread, but I don't remember if there was actually anything solid that came out of it. There was one guy who was taking orders for some custom made gears, although I don't know if there was ever enough orders to reach a required minimum. Another guy knew of someone already selling gears, but then, if I remember correctly, someone else said that those gears wouldn't fit. What I do remember for sure is that there was a whole lot of interest in lower gears (higher numerically) for the big rear end.

There are a lot of people who are interested in this subject, pretty hard to believe there isnt an aftermarket solution to the problem

When I blew the rearend in my car I was looking for a 3.42 posi, or anything posi to put in it, but I couldnt find one, and I had the rear-end apart for months.

    Wasted two 9 3/8 rears.

The buick '63 - '70 9 3/8 rears are big and strong, stronger then the ford other than there are no after market parts, nothing. I wasted two 9 3/8 rears, spiders siezed on the shaft and sheared the roll pin then all hell breaks loose. :ball: Searched long and hard for after market tracklok or something to eliminate the spider gears, but there is nothing really available now. I had Richmond gear engineering look and all kinds of options and combinations and nothing would fit. I ended up narrowing and putting a ford truck rearend into my 65 Riv. :af:
