Hi all, I'm looking at passably getting one of these and the one I looked at has a bad oil leak at the front of the engine. I think it's the timing cover/crank seal. Any body know how hard this would be to do? Could it be some thing else that is leaking? I really like this car. It has awesome comfort and power but this oil leak thing is bringing me down.

A common leak on the LT1's is the front and rear end seals on the intake - not the intake gaskets themselves.

If you get one like that....great time to upgrade the camshaft!!

Gotta be a better job on a B-body than an F-body!!:Brow: At least there's room.

    Hi Steve,
Lt-1's also leak from the optispark assy, The dist is on the front of the engine, there are a couple of seals and orings on that and the water pump. I have never done the job myself, I sold mine before I had to. The subject has been discussed @
    www. impalassforum.com.
i think 69GS400s (Alan ) may have done this job on one of his RMs.
I wouldn't let that stop me from buying one though, nice car.
    Adam.
