The ultimate collector 1967 GS 400. I wish it could be mine...........................http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9-64...0583702?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item416bbf7516
Amazing car!!! It must have taken the seller a long time to write that listing. By the way it's written I assume the reserve is unreachable to most. I can't help but wonder, if the gal had stayed with the original owner, would he have changed the interior color to gray by now?
Oh Yea - theres been alot of touching up to make it show pretty. Odd the hood latch still has nice gold cad but it is completely absent from the original brake boostero No:. Its not an original as far as being untouched but certainly has to be one of the finest examples. Man.....I didn't know they had paint that shiney back in 67. Looks beautiful. The ad comments on the car having original stainless fuel lines. So whats a very nicely restored rust free 67 GS 4 speed worth on average? $20-$25K. Just guessing as I don't follow those cars. Ad the ultra low mileage and originality factor and how much does that increase value? Another 20k perhaps.......especially since its black. Yes the interior color stinks but theres too many other high points for that to negatively affect value IMO. I'd think a deep pocketed interested buyer might shell out as much as $60k especially when we see whats spent on some Barrett Jackson cars. Just tossing some numbers around to spur some debate.
Is that interior really yellow? Looks like a parchment / ivory color to me. On my screen at least I don't think it looks all that bad with the black.
WOW !! And expensive too ! I had a friend who had a Yellow 67 4-spd GS yellow exterior & The yellow interior back in the day w/black vinyl top. Wrapped it around a pole racing a yellow 4-spd 442 ! car was quick for its day, he broke it in right ! powered shifted right out of the dealership.
Side stripe is interesting.... dual same width stripe located 3/4 inch or so below the body crease along the side. Seems different than the GM brochure pix. 99k ! Whoa!
Cool it's a 4 speed, not thrilled about the seats and door panels. Amazing it still has the original mufflers!
And even original hoses! Somebody knew to drive it and drive it enough to get it hot every few months for it to still be in such good condition.
So... What's the big deal about the interior being a rare factory color? I guess I'll get ready for the bashing when I get my car painted the original gold mist with pearl yellow interior.:TU:
Very nice car, it was featured in the GS-Xtra mag some time ago. It's definitely been touched up, at least under the hood. The plating on the booster and cylinder cap look right to me. Doubtful it has stainless lines, the seller says it's a Stage 1, and there weren't any back then, so who knows? It's a posi, but no tag. One interesting thing for you 67 guys to look at is the closeup of the gills. I figured this out last summer when I looked at my gill collection, they were PAINTED argent from the factory originally, not the outside edge...not the vertical bars, but the 2 raised gills. I think the paint was waxed or polished off, or wore off over time. I painted mine last year before the Nats. Also notice how the back trim is totally BLACK on a GS, it does not have horizontal chrome stripes like you often see on many GS cars (Skylarks do, I think). I don't know about the black hold down for the spare, never seen it before. Even at 9K, if it's been touched up...you can't be sure...but it's as good as you could find for a guide.
