We need to install a factory AC unit on our 1969 Buick GS 400. A gentleman has a complete front clip with all parts from a 1969 Buick Skylark CUSTOM. Is everything the same from a 1969 Buick Skylark Custom (350) to a 1969 Buick GS 400?? Brackets the same? Etc??? Can we use that unit and upgrade to R134?? HELP!!!!!!

I have found that most of the brackets, at least the giant aluminum ones, are FOR SURE the same from BBB and SBB.

I also beleive some of the pulleys are the same, but they were stolen off my parts car by a Buick fan.

most of the stuff will work. Some of the A/C lines may not be long enough as the front of a 350 sits further back than the front of a 400.

Also, you can contact board member "nickbuickgs" for additional help

... you can upgrade to 134a but you need to go through the complete procedure replacing seals, flushing ...etc.

For a whole nother discussion...... I would call R134 a DOWNgrade.

Agreed ... but you better have a good friend with a nice bottle of R12. Nothing blows like 12 - I've got 43* of cool blowing out the vents of Sporty

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I have 2 articles on the site below showing the AC brkts differences.

You will need the correct upper triangular brkt that goes over the valve cover and the correct ac/alt arm.

    Everything else will work.
