I need one defroster control cable for a 1966 Skylark with A/C. My manual says it is for the defroster control.

The cable is approximately 20" long from eyelet to eyelet. Has a blue tab on one end. This cable does not have the adjustment piece on it.

Really, really need this one with both mounting tabs in place.

Please contact by e-mail message if possible.

    Thanks

Pictures of 66 non AC cables. One is original, one has had the end repaired with a metal end. The one with the two original ends is not perfect looks like it has been hot but not melted. See the close up of than one. I will take $20.00 plus the shipping for either. Thanks Bill.

Just for general info about these cables..... I have fabbed them in the past.... by using after market choke cables that is available in the auto supply stores....
You measure and cut the outer part to length and then make the tabs for the ends by cutting body metal to twice the length needed, folding it in half around the outer cable housing.... then flame soldering the tab to the outer housing.... then drill the holes in the tabs.
next you cut the center cable to length plus enough to make the circles on the ends..... feed the center wire into the outer part with some lube and then form the end circles by wrapping them around a nail held in a vise....
Form the ends ''cold'' because if you heat them they will soften and not work... or if you have the savvy heat them and then temper them ....

Your solution is exactly what we were going to do next, I even went to NAPA and bought the longest cable they had to do the mods.

Thanks for the tip on cold rolling the ends, because we were going to heat them to make them easier to bend, won't do that now.
