There is and always has been a touch of the critical on all ebay ads posted on this board. There's no way to control it. We can't delete every comment that comes off as "not nice."

The car in this ad looks nice from the pictures. Not my taste, though. A little ribbing is just fine. We're all adults here (for the most part) and can take a joke or two.

Ya just gotta learn to live with it.

    Ditto Smartin

The first couple posts on this thread were just giving the guy a little ribbin'

Not one of them was a visious or nasty remark. To get upset over some good natured jokin around is not conducive to the atmosphere the ebay threads bring to the forum.

We all love to critique the ads on ebay. And I for one appreciate an honest debate over the merits of the ads.

Lighten up. It's Friday for cryin out loud. :TU:

hmmmmmmm, well, i may be off topic at this point, what was the original topic ? anyways, ebay has changed the way you do listings, with the new sell page it can be easier for a seller to make a mistake in a listing. kinda long to explain, but i expect to see more errors of this type in the future. if you've recently clicked " sell a similar item " then you probably know what i'm talking about. to err is human, to forgive is divine. or something like that. peace, henry

Gold boattail, if you click his other items for sale he has a mont carlo for sale. he must have simply made a mistake in listing which as I understand is easy to do.

As far as a little ribbing is concerned, a little ribbing is something you do with your toward your friends, when you do it to strangers it is slightly malicious. I don't really have a problem with it once in a while but lately there have been a lot of posts like this, where someone spots a car on ebay or somewhere, posts it, and people proceed to bash it without giving any real criticisim. They do it to board members cars and nonboard members cars alike and I'm just saying that all it does is hurt the diversity of the board. It's hippocrytical to do this and at the same time promote a friendly communty where all are welcome. But hey it's your board you do what you want.

I've been lurking on this board for awhile and there is sort of a snob mentality about other people's cars. Everybody has an opinion and that's fine, but get over yourselfs. We don't all want or can afford a numbers matching stage 1. I'm not thin skinned however and don't really care what anybody thinks about my car except me. I'm sure most people feel that way.

Way to go Marvin!!! Gosh you moved fromm CA to GA!!! Way to go!!! :beer I know its not yours, but at least the seller did correct the ad.

SO, since the car is now listed correctly, and those wheels do make it look KEWL and PHAT, I think its time we close this thread.
    Enough said :eek2:
    take it easy

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I just want to give Geeto and others some helpful info:

    1. I have been running the website below for 6+ years and been involved in our local club for 11+ years. Been working on GM A-bodies for 20+ years.

    2. A purist or die-hard Buick lover will usually make a statement to the negative of a car as listed above.

    3. You would not believe how many emails, phone calls, letters I get from someone trying to sell a car. They encounter problems with tire-kickers, time-wasters, etc.

So, here is where the above info is beneficial. When a non-purist or customizer does a car as above with mods that may be easy to remove(turn back to original) or not, they wonder why they can not "get" their price when it comes time to sell the car. The guy can spend $3000 on custom paint w/flames and heavy metal flake and another $1500-2000 on oversize rims etc and then when he goes to sell it, only and only if another person likes what he has done will they "pay his price or close to it".

I always end up telling people the further you deviate from stock or very close to stock, your "pool" of purchasers shrinks and so does the selling price. This is where the problem of money spent/invested and valuation collide and it gets ugly. You could spend $2000-3000 and paint the car a nice original color or one that has flames etc. The original color will add value to the car for a majority of the Buick buyers while the flame version will not. This is a hard point to prove to people and they eventually learn that their "custom" will not even come close to what they have spent to create it. I usually get an email and they ask me what is wrong and why can't I sell my car. I have to tell them they did not add value to the car and they will need to lower their price because the new owner will not like the car and will have to factor in his buying price the money needed to bring the car back to original or to his liking.

As stated by someone else, just opinions here but it is nice to know where you can get an objective opinion or a contrarian opinion.

    Have a great weekend!

It's not as bad as the 66 Skylark with 20inch rims and a brand X 350 :Dou:

And after one looooooong email from our savior of "Pimp my ride" I was bored with the subject and skipped his other emails

To each there on but it's still :moonu: ugly

At least the seller was kind enough to paint it green to remind us all how important money and bling bling is...

Geeto 67, we are all here voluntarily. Nobody is coerced into peaking through the posts. If I don't like a show on TV, I turn it off, or watch "Pimp my Ride."
