In my opinion, even tho it was wet and rainy, it was a good day for the die hard ,tried and true Auto xer's who ran the first inaugural Auto-X course at the Buick GS Nationals: Bowling Green, Kentucky . Lots of track time and seat time for thos who showed up or wanted a ride along. Bill Howell of the American Streetcar Series, set the track up a little on the tight side to keep the speeds down ,since it was a wet track. I think the wet conditions and the raindrops kept some of the participants from running , but for those who did.... lots of smiles , and some fun rivalry already going on. There seems to be a pace vehicle of sorts that has been setting the course times, you figure it out when you see it..... Today's forecast seems to offer drier conditions so the track will dry out and those times will start coming down. It was great to hear the echos and sounds of Big Block Buicks and Turbo'ed V6 Buicks running the course... For those who came yesterday and ran a BIG THANK YOU!! Also wanted to put it out there if you got /or will have, pictures and even VIDEOS of yesterday's or today's runs , please share them or post them up somewhere , if ya can't PM me and I will give you my e-mail address to send them to. Again thanks

I just wish the "no helmet" change was relied prior to the event. I left my car at home. :( I did get several ride-alongs though so it wasn't all bad.

First off a big thanks to Bill and Chris and the other people that I don't know that worked this event for the past 2 days. And thanks to the people at the GSCA for making this a reality. I had a great time. I got to make so many runs in my car I couldnt keep track.

The "no-Helmet" was decided at the last minute while at the track , mainly on Wednesday... due to the wet conditions , the course was set tight to keep the speeds down, when it came to Thursday , the course wasn't altered much , just opened up a little and the participants were gunning for the better time, so we knew the speeds wouldn't increase much to necessitate the need for one.

I'm glad you did get to do a Ride-along tho and still enjoyed it.

    Thank -you!

Yes Thank you for bringing your awesome GSX tribute car and running it hard as you did , that's why we wanted this venue introduced so your style of car could be enjoyed . Without your car and the others like it , this wouldn't been possible.

It was great to see you cruise around the course to hammering it around the course, learning your car and learning the line and drop your time on each pass.

Both days were great. So much for me just running around a couple times and taking it easy on my car. Oh well.. It was great meeting you guys, can't wait to do it again next year! Mike
