well if that roll pin broke something bound up within that system roll pins just don't break for no reason, did you take the dank cap off and see if the rotor turns should have done that thurs.

roll pin breaks engine stops lost oil pressure if anything it starts to miss badly for about 3 seconds before stall, if you the engine was still running when pulling over the roll pin did not break. Engine still running means you lost suction somewhere could be seal to cover or oil pump failed, could have broken gear. Was the oil pan off at any time with the pickup taken off? if so better look at that seal.
was the oil pump serviced at all did the gaskets get changed? Well lets say did this part get worked on at all during rebuild?

Broken rocker shaft, the lifter popped out and that caused the loss of oil pressure in that situation, all I could think of on that one. lol

If the engine starts and runs, then either the oil pump drive broke, or a galley plug popped out. First step is to pull the distributor.

As stated, if a lifter popped out of it's bore, especially the right side, there would be a massive oil pressure leak. There would be noise and the engine would be missing.

I don't know what "turns over" means. Does the engine crank and start? If it does, I would not start it until you figure out what happened.

When the shaft broke there was nothing keep the #2 cylinder push rod or lifter in place. Much like the OP described, I got into the throttle and heard a loud ping. Saw my aftermarket oil pressure gauge was at zero and pulled over. I'm assuming the SBB also uses pushrod oiling.

Clogged pick up screen in the pan? Curious where this one goes.

I’m still betting an ice cold gay Budweiser that it is the pressure relief valve spring. Easiest thing to check, and/or replace.

Lemme ask you this, did you hear any chattering ( lifters) when you first noticed the zero oil pressure?

Oh boy you all are gonna love this!! Hahahaha distributor hold down bold. Bolt came loose, distributor jumped up a 1/4 of an inch. I think it was to short and shitty threads on the bolt ; whatever it’s gone now. Replaced with ARP bolt and turned right over with oil pressure as it should be. Over all 20 mins and a $3 bolt. Thank you all for the input feed back and troubleshooting!! No matter what it was we were gonna find it, and did.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

So the distributer shaft popped up far enough to disengage from the oil pump.

That's easy to fix! Glad it was simple and you are back on the road.

I'm glad that is all it was!

I’m happy you found your issue and posted it!
A similar situation happened to me ‘bout 35 years ago, popped my distributor back in, thought it was down/engaged all the way, put the bolt in, fired it up, and DAMN did it ( the distributor) make horrible squealing noises:p:rolleyes:

I would wait until you run the engine for a while check that oil pressure after a good warm up on the highway when that engine temp gets to 180-190.
I noticed you only had 20 lbs @ 150* engine temp I am pushing 40 at 180* idle in park Keep an eye and ear out especially at start up listen for knocking vat that time.
