Air bleed question

I replaced the holley 850 double pumpermain main body with a Proform but I have the stock Jet plate from my holley unit.

The problem I have is the I cannot lean the AFR out during mid-range operation. From 1500 rpms to 2200 rpms the AFR reads 11:5 to 1, then as rpms increase to 3200 the AFR richens to 11:00 to 1 and stays there. I have drilled the air bleeds jet on the top of the main body to .42 and have even removed them completely but the AFR reading remain the same.

When I started the tuning is this main jet circuit the AFR was 9.8 to 1 I have made some progress but I would like to see a 12:00 to 1 in the mid-range. I have drilled the last .006 on the jet plate mian circuit but have no further progress in leaning it out.

Here is what I have done to lean this thing out:

I have drilled the air bleed main circuit to jet metering air bleeds out to .41 in both locations as shown with in the attached photos.

I have run the motor with no air bleeds in the top of the carb at all both this does nothing. Since leaving the air bleeds out completely with no change in the AFR It would appears the issue is the hole sizes on the jet plate main circuit.

    Any suggestions? Slugger

Well this thread doesn't seem to be a resource for every Holley question as it is perported to be but that is ok. With my particular issue I found the answer cost only $66.00, I simply purchased a matching metering block to go with the aftermarket Proform Main body, problem solved.

Conclusion, if anyone is interested, when it comes to carberators do not mix and match after market parts except for throttle plate and fuel bowls.
