Hey all, I'm helping a friend building an air cleaner for his '55 Chev Pickup.... I gave him one of the units I had in the shop, and he wants to add an extra snorkel to make a kinda 'dual feed' look... I'm sure the one I gave him was off a big car..... What do you guys have? Housing condition doesn't matter!
I texted him right after I posted this, good call Briz! I'll see him tomorrow and will get a picture!
I just unloaded a crate full of air cleaners. Let me check the ones that I have for a match. It probably won't be until I get back from my warehouse on Sunday. Thanks, Bob.
No sorry, I picked one up on the Olds forum a couple of years ago. Like everything else they are becoming pricey. I'll keep an eye out for you. I used mine to make a H/O air cleaner, because they're next to impossible to find and if you do find one expect to pay a couple of thousand for it. I started with the air cleaner and purchased the flapper door, actuator, foam, and the fiberglass top from an AMC. I then used speaker rings that are used for subwoofer and speaker enclosures. I used three 3/4"H x 3/16" W and one -3/4"H x 1/2"W for the top to fit the flapper assembly, all have a 16" OD. I used Birch instead of MDF, and then glued them together. It's not perfect but it came out pretty good and it's functional also. The last pic is a real one.
