Considering whose car I'll be driving, 100 feet away is probably a good distance for me.

    Hey all,

Wanted to say that I had a great time at the show, and really enjoyed getting a chance to meet a lot of you from the board, and also meeting some new guys who hopefully will join the board!

Lots of beautiful cars, sunshine and great people. I think the temperature hit about 85, and the final Buick count was about 175, which beat the show record of 150 handily.

We had small group of guys meet and caravan about 10 or 15 miles together, (I will list the board members names where I can remember them) including a 70 GSX Stage 1 (Ken Buchanan), 70 GS 455 convertible (Ken Buchanan), 67 GS 400, 70 GS 350 (jre), 68 GS 350, 69 GS 400 Convertible (cjp69), 71 GS Convertible (GS XNR), 70 Stage 1 4 speed GSX clone (cjp69), 64 Skylark convertible and 62 Electra (?).

Now I am sure I am going to miss some other guys, so I am apolgoizing in advance!

We had several guys make it up from SW Washington and Oregon, like Eric and Grant Nelson and their friend Larry who bought the beautiful 72 GS 350 from CO that was advertised here for sale for a while.

Dan (wormwood) and Duke (Dukec) made it up as well, great meeting and talking to you guys too.

Of course Jerry (Gotbuick) and his wife were there with the wagon and GS Convertible, nice to finally get to meet you in person Jerry!

Tim (gs4u2c)was there, and Todd (tjcole), Jeff Cornish (jeffc), Jim (jimssg1), who is an original owner of a 70 GS 455, a couple of guys who also frequent the turbo board too like Randy (VandaLL), Frank (boostedmaxPSI) and Josh (JP87GN).

Special thanks to Harvey and Brenda for bringing the X down for me!

Now someone who was there has to have some pictures they can post in a new thread? Randy or Jerry? Harvey? I know I saw some of you guys taking pictures.

My camera never made it out of my trunk.:ball:

For all who came out, thanks for doing so and for making the show fun. For those who didn't make it, mark your calendars and we will see you next year!

We can start a list of some of the things we want to see next year:

    Jim finish his 70 GS
    Todd finish his 67 GS
Tim finish any one of his cars
Jerry bring the race car with open headers

And the list goes on and on...

    Hi Everyone,
I want to echo Chris' thoughts on meeting a great bunch of guys. The first leg of my trip was uneventful. Top down, beautiful weather, car running well and a beautiful blond at my side. I stopped to meet up with a couple of business associates for a meeting Friday afternoon on the links and when my wife went to leave with the GS it wouldn't run. So a few panicky moments in deciding what to do. My friend phoned his local service shop and we had the car towed. My other associate lent my wife his car so she could carry on shopping. Meanwhile we got the important stuff underway which was a great game of golf. At about the 13th hole the mechanic called with the problem solved. The coil wire had rubbed through on the intake and shorted out the coil. A new coil and wire and everything was okay. A huge sigh of relief. Saturday morning we met Chris at his house and I had the pleasure of driving his X. I WANT A 4 SPEED AFTER THAT EXPERIENCE! It's getting late so I'll post just one pic for now of the cars that caravaned together minus the 2 non GS's as they had to park in their own sections. I'll post more tomorrow.

I Would like to thank all of those who helped me get my car on my trailer, (Harvey, and chris and randall)i still dont know what went wrong, when i got home it started up no problem. Other then probably the worst day i could have possibly had (car falling off the trailer, car not starting at the show, and locking my keys in the car when i got home) i had a great time, and won 3rd place in my class (which wasnt too hard being that there were about 5 cars in the class). BTW Duke, it wa nice meeting you, thanks for chilling with the family. Dan

    WOW! :eek2:

    Beautiful cars!

That looks like the GS nats there. :TU:

  12. gs4u2c

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Thank you all for your efforts on this show! There were so many beautiful cars, it was really inspiring. The GS presence was unbelievable, more than half of what I saw (though I didn't count exact) at the GS Nationals. I unfortunately was precluded from spending more than a few hours there. This show gets bigger and better each year, and with the turn out this year being as high as it was (even with the Goodguy's show the same day) I am sure it will continue to grow. Hopefully I will get a car completed and be able to enter next year.

    71GS455 Best Package Wins!

Who knows, maybe I'll have something to bring there next year too???

Of course that would go against my "I hate car shows" attitude. I spent Saturday in 100 degree New Mexico weather at an outdoor wedding.

My camera was not focusing right and the colors are darker then they should be. Found out later battery was low. But here goes

oh and I'm not partial to '66's & '67's... I'm not, I'm not, I'm not! and you can't prov.... errr.... never mind

This car belongs to John who came all the way from Idaho! Beautiful!

    Todd,

I looked your car over pretty close. VERY nice. It was great that you potatoe state boys made it.

By the way. I stopped by the Pontiac meet the next day. They had a whooping 60-70 cars at their show. Pretty weak turn out I thought. :Do No:
