Have a TA 350 intake, aluminum, and I just had it bead blasted clean to put on my rebuilt 350. What is the best way to protect it. I heard clear coat, but someone said it will yellow. I'm looking for advice.
    Thanks

I was told to take it to a body shop to have it clear coated. It is said to be better clear and will not yellow???

I have tried it all , pulled my intake 3 times in 2 years to keep it looking new. Bead blasted it for the last time and a friend of mine at the machine shop told me to use HI temp Aluminum Paint for Headers. So Idid and after 3 years it still looks GREAT . When I detail my Engine I just wipe it with A soapy rag then wipe dry. No one ever has known or cared ,AS FOR THE OYHER POST YOU CAN TRY THEM TOO. But I am happy to solve this problem for myself.

I don't know about "body shop clear coat" but the spray bomb stuff will yellow and also if you use any kind of chemicals (ie. carb spray) it will remove it. Found out the hard way. :Dou:
