On page 10-1.2 off my new assembly manual, (tire charts), it shows a black dot indicating that a tire option triggered a 6.00” wheel. Comparing that page to 0.12-2, it appears that, if a car came with the base steel wheel and 7.75x14 tires, the car got 5.5” wheels, but choosing F70-14, 205R-14, or the 8.25x14 bumped the wheel up to a 6” rim. (Also, I see two 15” wheel options for series 46, an 8.85x15-4 ply for ‘export and Canada’ and a w.w.225R-15 that doesn’t say ‘export’). So, I think this means my car (originally a full wheelcover car) must have had either radials or oversized tires when delivered due to the 6” steel wheels. Am I thinking correctly? And,secondly, option code P33, available on a ‘68 GS, appears to be a 14” ww radial on the order form but a 225R 15 in the assembly manual (and doesn’t say ‘export’). Could there have been a 15” wheel as an SCO? Paging Mike Trommeter… Patrick
F7 P33 for the "Special, Skylark, GS, Sportwagon series was a 205-R-14 WW "radial" tire. F7 P33 for the LeSabre, Wildcat, Electra series was a 225-R-15 WW "radial" tire. 15 inch was not an option for "a" body cars until 1970. Same codes, different tire sizes. Can't help with the rim size question right now.
Here are the tires that were put on GS cars per the production total guide: Only 1373 GS350/400 cars left the factory with Radial tires.
