I have a '74 350 block...It has what appears to be an oil passage from the cylinder head deck to the front cam bearing bore(one on each side)...Is this a through the head oiling setup and if it is, how do I convert to the thru the pushrod setup??? At least on the 455's I thought Buick switched to a thru the pushrod oiling setup in like 1970...When did they switch on the 350's??? Or did they??? Does anyone have any pics of a bare block showing these holes???

    Thanks for any help...

I went and looked at the pushrods that I pulled out of the motor...They are hollow with a hole at each end...

I won't know until I get the heads back as to if the passage continues into the head or the head is solid at that point to block off that hole...

Makes you go hmmmmm.... :Do No:

Anyone have any info about this???

Your 74 350 is oiled through the the push rods. I believe that buick changed to oiling through the push rods in 1969 or 1970 for sure.
