I'm looking for any N.O.S. parts for a 70 GSX. Want to do a concours restoration. May consider trading some of my parts on car. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me! Thanks, Dale danoble@verizon.net :TU:
I may have a few nos parts ; overflow res., RC-29 rad. cap, air cleaner snorkel diaphram, thermal air sensor, TVS, TCS solenoid, motor mounts, timing cover, Stage 1 cam, etc. You can call me at 307-682-8629, I'm located in Wyoming. Tim
NOS parts Are NOS parts that hard to come by for a 70 GSX, or am I just not getting any leads??? Can someone give some leads if you don't have any parts? What about repos? Would you use them on a concours resto??? Got an opinion? :Smarty:
You will probably get a few different answers on your questions, but for your first one I think you will find that coming across these NOS parts your looking for are going to be an adventures challenge but you will get a lot of help from these guys on this board and some leads. And for your second question I believe that some how some way it is inevitable you will have to use some sort of an aftermarket part sooner or later on your concours resto. But as I said if your going to make some waves on your project you couldn't pick a better board to dive head in on. Good luck! :beer
There are alot of very good quality reproduction parts made just for your needs. My parts all actually were made in the restoration process of my GSX 4 speed car. NOW I build parts for other cars too, along with the past parts. Check out my peices here www.mrbuick.com thanks
N.O.S parts are becoming harder to find every day and they will comand a higher price. If you want to finish your car in this lifetime you may need to settle for good used or repro. Just my .02. Bill
Parts I appreciate the replies and input! Here's another question maybe some can answer based upon experience. Is it better to find the parts you need and then give to the one restoring OR have the one restoring find the parts needed if he has good contacts?
Dale, Generally the more parts you can supply to your "restorer" the better off you will be. It will probably also save you money in the long run, because you won't have to pay your "restorer" for all the time he spent on the phone chasing down your parts. Time is money. Plus, with the way things are going, if you buy a part when you are ready for it, instead of now, you may end up paying many times more for the same thing. I know many guys that said they were going to "restore their car someday" and never bought parts for the car. Now that they are ready, they can't afford to buy the pieces to finish it. Duane
