Any one claim this 66 GS

Not a 66 color that I'm aware of? I did copy and paste the photo!
Hope that's OK with the resident critics?
It's better than trying to explain the color in layman's terms

Looks like shadow turquoise to me.
Same color code i painted my 67 ragtop.
Wa3495 was a correct 1966 color

 

Nice, some cars you could special order a different color, you'd have to look at the trim tag as I read a article about a 66 GTO that came in a Cadillac color, very similar if my memory serves

Think the cowl tag would have "--" to indicate special paint, not positive but think this is how a 1970 Rallye Oldsmobile is, as Yellow wasn't a standard offering

I love that color. The Buchev is Ford Bimini Blue which is similar but a little lighter.

 

Wasn't the panel between the taillights painted a flat black in 66?

Yes, but there are supposedly some that came through painted body color. They look better black to me.

 

That reminded me of the GTO article as well. I love this GS in that hue

 

thats actually true i saw a burgandy that was original paint with the body color tail pan. apparently the first month of build didnt get painted iirc.

 

Yes, I think Jimmy has a yellow one like that too.

 

It might be this color. This car was for sale here in MN a couple years ago when I looked at it.
