I have a chance to have free use of a industrial powder coating company. A buddy works there and has the ok to do his own stuff. any way, he has chrome powder coat, and I was thinking of getting my bumpers done. I'm not looking for a perfect job, but I am intrigued about it. I can't afford to have them plated, but I need to do somethin with them. any thoughts? again, this is free, so I figure is worth a shot. :Do No:

I've used 'Almost chrome' powder.....it looks like a semi-polished aluminum. However, it will need to be clear-coated to prevent it from oxidizing. After clearing, the shine will be reduced somewhat. It will look more like a nice silver paint. It may look cool on a race car, but it's not a subsitute for chrome.
It's now available with the 'clear' built in. I haven't personnally used it.
www.caswellplating.com has a forum where you should be able to find some pics.
