Does anyone make vintage AC Delco decals to make a new oil filter look like an original? Maybe even some sort of a thin plastic re usable sleeve that makes your current filter look correct. It hit me when I was installing my R59 "battery topper". I bet someones already making them :Dou:

a removeable one might just come off but a plastic shrink heat sleeve would be trick. Sort of like the easter egg kits. A tight fit for even the oddest filter.

After having mine judged on the 400 pt. system.....screw 'em! I'm painting my next filter blue (only if I have some blue paint on the shelf) and I'm getting a REAL battery and some aftermarket $hit that actually works.......like headlights that go bright enough to actually light up the road in front of me?

    Jason,
Al Fiandaca (GSThunder) had these at one point. Stick on to the oil filter after you paint it white.

Guys, you can get the correct white AC Delco PF-24 oil filters on EBay most of the time. Just do a search for PF24 and you should get several to choose from. There is also one of the suppliers, whose name escapes me right now, that repro's PF24's. I have bought several from them at shows.

Here's an ebay listing for a NOS PF24 filter: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4564988272&category=80737

Added in edit: OPG sells a repro PF24. Here's the link: https://www.opgi.com/GateGTO4.asp . BTW, Pontiac's used a PF24 the same as our Buick's did. I find this type of thing a lot when researching parts for my Skyhawk's restoration. I'm able to use many GM "A" body parts (clips, screws, etc) even on the Skyhawk.

Brad...with all the talk of the poorly made, restrictive filters (like Fram), I was a little apprehensive about putting on a filter of unknown origin. I take it that you havent had any oil problems with the repros? Does anyone know what filter they are starting with? It would be interesting to cut one open and look inside.

I *believe* they start with genuine AC Delco PF24's and paint them. The shape of the can looks to be a Delco part.

I have had no problems with mine, but you must remember, I really go on and off a trailer. Well, this year in Bowling Green I did drive around a little, probably about a mile total.
