Anyone have a price guide?

Discussion in 'The Hobby Lobby' started by Greg Setter, Mar 15, 2005.

I have at least one of every 1:18 scale GS or GSX made, including the Nats Specials (all matching serial numbers). Probably 18 to 20 in total. First run yellow and black GSXs, Peachtree editions, etc. Most still in boxes, some have been displayed but still have the boxes.

Looking for individual "worth" - not really to sell, more for informational purposes. Anyone have an idea? Ebay is hit-or-miss and not a real reliable info source. Local hobby shops are only interested in NASCAR stuff and are not too helpful.

    Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I know those prices came from "The Book", but how did the author determine those prices? :puzzled:

I've been curious of the same thing, myself, but I don't agree that those are necessarily "current" values! :Smarty:

For example, what does the book list, specifically, the '96 Nationals (White Prototype with Window Sticker) as? Does a "lower" production number make it more valuable, if it's a "Limited Edition"? :Do No: The most I've seen one Sell for was $350, at a "Toy Show"! :Dou:

 If those values are accurate, I have 2 of almost EVERY one that you have listed (except for the Blue one and the Red one)! I've never removed ANY of them from the original boxes, or opened them at all!

Maybe at one of the Buick events we could have "scale racing" like a Pinewood Derby, only using the ERTL cars! Bring your customized 1/18th GSX to run against a 1/18th Hemi Cuda, for example! Put them on the track, and let them go! I got $10 on the GSX! :TU:
If it wins, I'll buy it for $50! :bglasses:

I'm not questioning "you", Jerry. :TU: I just wonder, sometimes, how people get their information about determining "values" for parts. :Do No:
