I know a guy who just picked one up. He got the PHS and it's a 350HO automatic car. The best part, though, is that it's trimmed as a Crystal Turquiose/parchment/parchment car -a gorgeous combo. It's sans hood, engine, and tranny, so it's fresh for cloning into a sweeter engine combo, although 350HOs are rare and pretty decently fast. But with the way it's trimmed, it should be saved. As it's in CA, it should have little, if no, rust.

I don't have an answer on price, and I haven't been able to find the pics that I had. If I can get 'em, I'll post 'em.

That would be like taking a 340X6and cloning it into a ?? Or an W-31 and cloning it into a ????. Not too many made. Probably worth a lot more stock than cloned and removing a fairly rare FB. Just find a regular FB and clone it. Sorry, just not much into cloning a rare car into something else. Kinda like taking the T-37 and cloning it into a GTO. NOT!!

The difference is that people want W-31s and 340 Six Packs. No one wants a 350HO. Slipping a 400 does no harm as it's easy to slip the 350 back into place.

Diego......all due respect......but weren't you a bit unhappy about a 383 car being turned into a Hemi recently?

No big deal, just wondered if there was a change of heart. :beer

I'm still a purist, but I'm also still a believer that people have the right to do what they want. Pedigree should be respected, though.

Keep in mind, though, that this car doesn't have an engine. If it did, I would sing a different tune.

Hey I'm cloning a 68 Hurst from a real 68 W30......well almost. It won't be silver. (try red). It will never have a G block in it, though. Did that twice before. Big mistake.

I also have a real, Sebring Yellow 70 W31 coming with a 427 Chevy. Was thinking of cloning a Rallye 350 from it...........NOT!!!!!!!!!

    Dave,
Saw a '69 Cutlass S w/ a 455 4spd on Tuesday and thought of you. Had a '70 style wing and a Rallye 350 paint color on it by someone who failed Earl Shibbs' School of Painting :Dou: Should of taken a pick but didn't.
Talked to a guy today at a yard who stripped a '68 or 9 Cutlass S that was a 4spd car. Body was supposedly shot but had a freshly rebuilt 455 in the hole. Yard owner wasn't allowed to keep the body :puzzled: :Do No:

Nope. I'm a semi purist. I also noticed engine gone after I posted so made it a moot point. Just not interested in getting into a ......contest. Don't know you well enough to have some fun with your comments so will just :3gears:

    Lon:

There were a lot more 4 speed standard Cutlasses built than people realize. I've had 4 of them over the years including a 69 2 barrel post car last year with A/C. Drove a 70 and later a 72 (bothe 350 Cutlass S cars) as our second cars in the late 70's.

Today everybody that finds a 4 speed Cutlass thinks they have a W31 on their hands. My friend, Mark Cornea (Dr Decal), sells lots of Ramrod (68), W30, W31, and W32 fender decals (69) and engine code stickers every year.

They're great parts donors as all the 4 speed stuff is identical to the 442 and W car stuff. Imagine same with Pontiac, Buick, Chev. Ford stuff only intechanges if it was made in the same week as they changed everything every chance they could.   Mopar is Mopar........ :Do No:

C'mon, guys, this car is going to end up as a Camaro if someone doesn't step up to the plate. I am serious here!
