Hi, I just mocked up my head studs & heads last night. i have the ARP head stud kit from TA (undercut no less!). The nuts are 3/4" versus the original 5/8" head bolts. There is _very_ little clearance between the nut and the head itself on the outside mounting locations. Can't even get a socket over then nut in 2 places. I'm running 68-69 430 heads (casting #1382988). Anyone else encountered this before? I hate the thought of taking Mr. Dremel to my freshely rebuilt heads or using a mix of studs and original head bolts.....

thanks in advance for any advice

I had the same issue with my cast and aluminum stage heads.
ARP 300-8324 contains 2 each 1/2-20 12 point nuts that take a 9/16 socket. Available from Summit and other providers. That cured it for me.

I had that issue also and I believe that I used a 3/8 drive socket with a 1/2 adapter for the tight ones, since my torque wrench is a 1/2 drive. It was still real tight though. Brian
