    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

The value of "Bitcoin" is of less concern (to me) than the likely retaliation by those who are involved in these extortions and exploits.

In many of their (criminal) "minds", what they do has "legitimacy" in their eyes, and now they are being "challenged", or rather, their "turf" is being "intruded upon".

We may see some "reaching out and making examples", or worse, "hit and run" and leaving those who will pay, "broken" rather than "unlocking" systems/data as in the past, to avoid being tracked or traced.

The way the games are played (criminal activity, exploitation and manipulation) will change, but there will never be an end to "players".
