    Hey Jim,
Just noticed you list a `68 GS400 Conv. in your signature. Well I just saw a `68 GS400 Hardtop in a local salvage yard, and most of it is still there. The hood is removed but on the roof still with the scoop. The fenders are there with all of the emblems. the engine is mostly there, less carburetor. Can't recall the interior. Must have been missing most of the interior or I would have noted it. I heard that they wanted $50 dollars for the fender emblems, a friend of mine collects emblems. I have gotten pretty good prices from them on other parts, but nothing as rare as a `68 GS Hood. The car appears to be pretty much rust free, it's here in Phoenix. It's not at speedway though, it's at Desert Valley Auto Parts. www.DVAP.com

P.S. to anyone else who needs sheet metal, that was the only GS but they have about 30 skylarks/specials from `64-`72.

    Dave,

    Thanks man...

I actually have a '69 front clip on the car... I LOVE the '69 hood..

nothing against the '8 hood, but come on... the domed hood rules...

I need both quarters and a LF fender to finish my collection of body parts.. I have solid doors, hood, trunk lid, and RF fender. Ran into a guy down in Daytona last year, who was "liquidating" his stock of '69 stuff... I litterally filled our 26" trailer, in all the nooks and cranny's that the GSX we were bringing back to the shop did not fill.

I have all the '68 specific stuff, except for a hood..

Car was a basket case when we got it in '84, and I got it running, and in bondo and primer (hey, I was young..:Dou: ) and then stopped working on it, when I "discovered" drag racing.

Also, at that time, I already had a dozen tickets with it.. so it has been patiently stitting in storage for almost 20 years now. Frame and floors are solid as a rock, I just need a few more body parts, and the time and motivation to work on it.. and trust me, every time I drive one of my customer's finished cars, I think "man, I have to get one of these again..." but then I think... "Hey Dork... you already own one.." and a ragtop no less.."

For any of you guys going to the Turkey Run at Daytona.. keep you eyes peeled for any "68/9 convert rear quarters..

If I have to graft hardtop quarters on it, I will, but still looking for the ragtop ones.

I may call, and see what he wants for the whole thing.. would give me an excuse to make an "extended parts run" out to see you guys at TA.

    And winter is coming...

    But thanks again Dave.

  3. Jim, you should post a picture of your '68. I haven't seen it in the Members Rides, have I? I know, I know, it's not done, but we don't care! :bglasses:

You Arizona/Cali guys are SOOO lucky you live where you do. Up here in the Great white (salt white) north you are lucky to find a 98 Skylark in the auto wreckers (and they are BUTT UGLY)!

Sheet metal like qtrs they do have, and they have several 65-67's, especially 65's. Anything that is plastic, wood, or rubber will be trashed from the intense sun in the summer.
