This year for a family outing, we drove my dads 70 Stage 1 to Atwood Kansas (Nowhere USA) for the annual "Rod Run." Lots of cars showed up, but our Buick was the only Buick. For a drag race, they shut down the local airport runway for some awesome drag racing. It was totally american graffitti style, no christmas tree, just a single yellow traffic light on a 4x4 fence post. I felt proud that the Buick aced every of the four cars it lined up against. The coolest was by far when the Buick beat a 68 383 Road Runner. That little bird needed an attitude adjustment and it sure got one. Yet, the mopar guys still come back for more. Amazing.
Kevin, Hi there buddy hows it going ? Could your dad be driving a blue Stg. 1 ? Could he be the guy I talked to in the "pits"(lol) about the Pueblo event ? I think we even talked, didnt you ask about a 70 ish' car ? Anyways....... Glad you had a good time in Atwood. I live about 20 miles from there and the locals really think that is racing . But hey, we are a bunch of hicks out here ya know ? LOL.......... Glad you had a good time, and hope to see you next year. And hope to see yall in Pueblo later this year. later.......................................... p.s. yall weren't the "only" Buick there. There was a 37' coupe with a 73' 455" and a 10 bolt corporate rear in it. Black, and in my biased opinion, a perfect driver, and a great ride. You were not alone....................
Olds motor Pat: I would love to get rid of that thing. It would only take a little of that stuff I have heard you have little to spare.....Cash! I understand, I too, have little to spare. If not for that, I would have a buick motor in that car. Come to think of it, I am putting a Buick in it this year, Finally!!!
