Audi A4 Sent Packin'

Well, I'm loathe to admit I participated in some street racing over the weekend, something I just don't do in the Electra, but it was late at night on a deserted street, and... it was over pretty quick!

A friend of mine (in the Audi) and me in the Electra were coming home from the same place and while stopped at a red light, he started to playfully rev up his engine... of course I responded with a couple of healthy revs of my own. The car was running really well that night, top was down, it was late and I was feeling good so... I lined the Duece N'A 1/4 up with Audi and waited for the lights (while looking into his back seat). His is a turbo-charged quattro model, so I was hoping to get him early before the turbo kicked in.

No Traffic. 1st Gear. Light Green and we're off, both of us surprised as the buick left a patch and was off.... After about 200 ft, I already had over 2 car lengths on him and he was not catching up, so, in the interest of safety, I shut it down and coasted to the next intersection, not believing how quickly the 5000lb beast put away the Audi. All my friend could say as he drove up next to me was, "Not too Bad" as he turned off and went home.

This obviously is not the best Kill on this board, but I was so pumped, I had trouble sleeping... I just don't open up the Electra very often... I will a little more now, though!

    should be pumped ....

I had my century out for a short cruise last Memorial day....all stock...but looks fast...fella and his girl pull up in a pontiac lemans rag top (all primer, and sounded like he had a large cam in it)...he wanted 2 roll ...all I can do is leave slight rubber on the pavement...light is getting ready 2 turn green..I'm thinking what the hell let him impress his girl...."LIGHT GREEN"

...I make a little squeel from one of my rear tires...I glance besides me ...the fella is stuck in the middle of the street....his car bogs out...I go around the block...ends up I'm helping him push his car into a shell gas station while his girl steers.....pops the hood...we smelling gas fumes...end up he had some cheap hose clamped on to his carb that came off.......

....and I was pumped up oon a cheap win like that...

My Dad had a '69 Electra back in the day. I spanked many a car with old tank. Nothing like seeing the look on their face when that big old car runs away from them. Good job.:TU:
