What is the difference other than throttle linkage? I ask because I plan to swap out the 2bbl rochester on my 3-Speed manual Gladiator for a 4bbl quadrajet mounted atop an original 1970 intake. I'm just not sure if a quadrajet built for an auto will work correctly with my t-15 three speed.

The divorced choke Thermostat part#s are also different for manual and auto carbs.

Another board member here had good results with a rebuilt Holley Rochester 64-7778 on an auto transmission..

I'm no carb expert, this is really a question for Cliff R! But from general knowledge, autos and manuals usually have differences in the size of the jets and the metering rods sometimes. There may be other differences also. I would think the chokes would be about the same, maybe the high idle cam is different.

From what I have seen, the auto carbs are slightly richer, to allow for the constant load applied by the torque convertor. in your application, I doubt that you will have an issue, as long as the carb is applicable to the same size engine. Ray

Thanks for all the info, I'll be going with a quadrajet off of a 1970 Skylark 350 Auto that's sitting on the shelf. I will probably have it rebuilt to something like gm land yacht specs.
