Bent secondary rod tip?

cray1801 Too much is just right.

The motor doesn't seem to pull quite as good and as smooth as it did 300 miles ago. During my only strip visit, about 300 miles ago, I changed the secondary metering rods. I've noticed this last week the paint on the heads (close to the header) looks more burned. So, this afternoon I decided to change the secondary metering rod to something richer but when I pulled the old one's out I noticed one of them has a bent tip. I really don't think I installed a bent one? Could this happen while installed? Check out the angle...

Yeah I know I'm definately on the rich side with .030" secondary rods. I just now installed a .040" set that are straight.

I also noticed that the hanger in question, in this case is a "L", is more narrow than any of the other seven hangers I have. This may have caused enough mis-alignment to bend the tip? I went back and looked at the other set of secondary rods that I've used and one is slightly bent as well (same hanger used).

I'm going to spread the sections of the hanger to match the other hangers width, maybe this will solve my problem :Do No:.

What are the odds that this bent secondary rod tip caused other damage?

I've seen bent primary rods before but I don't remember seeing a bent secondary rod. Not sure what would have caused it. :Do No:

They bend very easily...this could have happened before you installed them last.

The skinny ones really have a tendency to bend if you touch them the wrong way:gt:
