Best header/exhaust combo for a 455?

As the title goes, what do you guys think is the best combo?

I'm a little bit into the Dynomax Ultraflow Exhaust, H-pipe and Hooker SS headers. And the 290-08H cam in my 462.

EDIT: By "best combo" I meant best/meanest sounding setup. Like people turn their heads when you roll up, in a good way...

First, you have to define "best".

    Allows highest horsepower?

    Longest service life?

    Quietest?

    Lightest?

    Something else?

What you have should work well together.

That exhaust should be fine. If you want a little quieter, mellow sound you could go with the Walker Dynomax Super Turbos in the 20 inch case. Also, the X pipe exhaust is, arguably, a little quieter/mellower than the H pipe.

I have the exact same set up, cubes, cam, mufflers but with TA headers, love the sound....

There is quite simply nothing comparable to MT/Scavengers, from there on back it doesn’t matter. They have the most distinct sound in all of muscle cars.

I've got M/T repro headers, 3" full dual exhaust with Walker Super Turbo 3" in, 3" out mufflers through 3" tail pipes. It runs just as fast capped up as it does uncapped.

+1. Those Walker Super Turbos have been the Go-To muffs for both sound and flow for many years on high HP street GSs.

You got any videos? Where did you get the M/T headers? Super Scavengers?

Yes MT/SS headers, can only be bought from someone willing to sell them last time made was 1980’s. There are NOS sets floating around but be willing to pony up $12-1500. I believ Bill Lagna? was selling a dented up set for much less here on V8, some are better than none.

    M/T SS (Repro)
    Hooker SS

I like mean sounding Buick exhausts too but, then I also like listening to my converted factory radio with Sirius XM and my favorite rock albums on USB. The drone from the wrong muffs makes that impossible. LOL!

This is my car idling after warmed up. Idle and rev with M/T SS and Walker Super Turbos.

This is hitting 3rd gear from inside the car with the windows down. You can hear it breaking loose in 2nd before barking 3rd at about 30 MPH.

Just an FYI for anyone trying to get an idea of the sound in real life...….It's best to listen to the above or any video, for that matter, on a desk computer with an external sound system. When listened to with a cell phone, the exhaust will be real tinny sounding. Try it with both and compare. :D

Here's my BSA motor with a TSP 475 Stroker motor, stock ported intake and exhaust manifolds, Stainless 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust with "X" pipe, and Walker Dynomax Super Turbos (20 inch case). Cam is a Comp Cam Hydraulic Roller 230/245 with .595/.560 lift.

Mine is real close to yours. MT headers, TA 3 inch pipes, DynoMax Ultra Flow mufflers. Love it.

Can't remember what this setup was but it is the best sounding 455.
