I can’t login to the 65GS site, I get a black screen on my phone and my laptop. Anyone have any idea why? I’m thinking it might be some of my “protective” software on my router.
Hi, I wrote Loren a few days ago, he indicated it was down, not sure for how long, hopefully nothing major or some sort of upgrade? Regards, Jim
I had the same for the past couple of days. It's mostly working now, but the forum is not displaying correctly.
Thank you for the replies. I was about to remove some server software that so thought was blocking my connection.
Hi Guys, I am aware that 65GS.com is having an issue. The hosting company changed servers and failed to update a setting. I haven't been able to log on myself. If the issue manages to get resolved, for many reasons I'm thinking that this may be the last year of the forum. Loren
I Would be sorry to see it go, but can completely understand. Seems like a low volume of traffic and a lot of work to maintain.
In many ways it will be sad to let it go but the cost to keep it online for so few contributing members is making the decision that it may have run out enough interest to keep it going. Loren
Hi Guys, Just to add to the chorus it would be indeed very sad to lose 65GS.com precisely because it is a small community with relatively low traffic. It is a group of car enthusiasts with a very narrow interest and therefore much more in common. It is easier to get to know one another and therefore be more considerate of the participants of the forum. Alas, that does nothing to make the hassles of managing such a forum go away. If cars were as badly put together as computer technology, we wouldn't dare travel more than a few miles from home! Oh well, Edouard
I don't have a '65 (but would love to someday) so only been on there a couple times but still shame to see it go. Would it be worth keeping if there was an annual fee ($5-10?) and/or would ppl pay it? Also maybe talk to Jim W. and see if there's a way to migrate it over here w/a special '65 GS forum.
There is hope! A member of 65GS.com has offered to help get 65GS.com back on it's feet. We are still in the rebuilding process but hope to have it up and running in the near future. I want to thank those that have contacted me about the forum. It has given me reason to make it happen. Loren
Thanks Loren for making the effort and thanks to that unknown 65GS.com benefactor who has made the difference! Edouard
Loren, Glad to hear, figured you were on the case so to speak, I may not be the most active member over there, but do enjoy the knowledge and other members post and help inspiring me to get my cars going, lol Regards, Jim
Thank you Loren for all you do and for responding to my questions about the site. If donations would help, just let me know how to send it. I must admit I have not been contributing to the site as I should have been. However, I rely on it as the best place to find accurate information about our 1965-66 Gran Sports.
WE ARE UP AGAIN!! It's been a bit of a struggle and a great deal of work on the part of Trunkmonkey but 65GS.com is LIVE again. Words can't describe my joy and great appreciation to Trunkmonkey. Loren
