Block?

    CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THIS BLOCK WAS OUT OF? NUMBER STAMPED ON BLOCK DECK IS 40H214839 HELP!!! HUTCH

    0 - 1970 Model year
    H - Flint? ( I think)

    214839 - Production Number

    Look on the same deck near the oil dipstick tube. Around 1:00 to the dipstick hole should be two letters in all caps. That's what you need to know the application. If you read this VIN# on the left deck, then the code is still there. That's what we need.

    You have a block from a '70 full-size car.

    Isn't that a Riviera 370 hp block?

    Any full-size. Same block as I have, mine being out of a 70 Wildcat.

    Hutch,

    SF is the 370 HP 455 with 10.5:1 compression

    Available in the Estate Wagon, LeSabre Custom 455, Wildcat Custom, Electra 225 & 225 Custom and the Riviera.
