    StrokedBuick Got Cubic Inch??

How big has anyone gone with a Buick bore wise?

I got a 72 Skylark pretty sure its original motor. Were these the 3.8" bore or the larger over 4" bore?

The old 350 that was in the wagon years ago was bored out to 3.875". I had installed a set of TRW super stock pistons for a 265 Chevy. At that time they were the lightest piston in the TRW piston catalog. This was 25+ years ago. The car ran 12.3 in full stock form, all seats ect... The wagon was a 4 speed stick, 308s cam, KB rollers, 4779 750 Holley, Mallory dual point with a capasitive discharge (Radio Shack kit), KB headers, 12 bolt rear with 4.88 gears.

Mike - Will most of the 350's take a .060" overbore(or more), or is it just the older ones?

I would only go .030 max. Some 350 blocks you can go larger, but only if you have it sonic tested. My current 350 in my 71 GS was sonic tested (its a 78 block) and it was "ok" to go .060 over, but the machine shop suggested to go only .030 over to leave more iron in the bores for wiggle room down the road if it should need to be bored another .010 for whatever reasons. Mark - I agree about taking it out as little as necessary! I guess it's kind of a 'Catch22'. Do you take a chance on going too thin...or do you open things up more to help unshroud the valves (especially with the larger TA valves).:Dou:

Suppose we could do both and fill the bottom half the block with block filler.:Brow:

That's a neat idea. I am running speed pro pistons (I think).

I wonder if those 265" pistons are still available? It's weird that the pin height worked. I am guessing that they were flat tops?
