    tubecatgs Finally a 4 speed......

Bought this used from a board member. When it arrived this rod was laying in the bottom of the box. I tried to push it in but only goes in this far. Do I just force it in, is there a trick to it? Does it need lubrication before I slide it in? (woops haha).

I have a 70 GS and this came out of 68 Skylark it should be fine, shouldn't it?

There are different length rods. They need to match up to your master cylinder cup depth.

Ok, I bought his master cylinder also and didn't notice but it slides on and seems to fit. I never knew there were different rods.

This rod has a rubber o-ring on it and looks like a detent like it's supposed to snap in but doesn't... It just doesnt seem right since the tip is soo small... thats a lot of pressure on it...slides in and out pretty easy...

    Is this right?

    Yep.
    Shallow vs deep pocket piston.

They just slide in and out. No snapping.
It should be obvious that you have a deep or shallow cup. Looks like you’re on the right track.

Brad, I sent the correct rod for the master that I sold you. It just slides in and stops, once the the master is bolted on it's all good.
BTW.....It came off of my '67 GS.
