I have a couple of questions on brakes. First, I currently and running 18" wheels but occasionally still throw on my 15" rally wheels. In an idea world, I could continue this. What are the highest performance aftermarket brakes I can run in a 15" wheel? It looks like Wilwood makes a nice 11" rotor with 4 piston setup. This is front only and I'd be purchasing a new Manual master cylinder as well. Second, for some autocross duty and maybe a trackday once a year, would it be worth it to forget my 15" wheels and upgrade to some serious big brakes? What are your experiences? It's not a hardcore track car and I'm leaning towards compromising on size but would still like the best. Thanks all! Jon
Check out the Baer SS4+ front brakes. 4 piston calipers, 11" slotted and cross drilled rotors, plus hubs, spindle brackets, and hardware for about a grand. They are DOT approved and sealed against water and dust, and were designed with 15" wheels in mind. I run them on my car and can't complain so far. I am sure a track day every now and then is now problem, but for serious use I'd want something bigger for more bite and heat dissipation.
