I'm trying to find a good core to restore for my 4-barrel intake. I was hoping someone could tell me some buick carb numbers, where to look for them, also if any other carbs will fit. I'm looking to stick with a quadrajet of course. This carb needs to fit on a 1972 4-barrel intake.

    Thanks,
    Mike the man.

If youre looking for a core, you could hit ebay, they always pop up there. Also swap meets are good. Or better yet, post in Parts Wanted. I am sure someone on the board has the core you want.

My cousin sent me a quadrajet on Monday. It arrived today with the numbers 7040208. It looks so beautiful. Can anyone provide info on this?

    Thanks,
    Mike the man.

From what i've read about the number it is a 750cfm unit. I plopped it down on my '72 intake and the throttle linkage holds the driver's side up about 1/2" off the intake. Do I need a spacer plate or can I change that whole assembly. Here's some pictures as well.

This is my only option. I will make it work. Thanks for your input though.
